Fast Access to Digital Maps and Documents Used Across All Aspects of Domestic Maritime Economy – This is the Main Goal of the SIPAM System, Launched by the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation. Intratel Implemented Advanced Dell Technologies Infrastructure and VMware Solutions for This System, Enabling Hardware Integration Across Locations from Szczecin to Gdynia.
Intratel, in collaboration with Dell Technologies, has developed a case study about the implementation in the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation (MGMiŻŚ) – the full case study can be read HERE.
Soon, a film produced by Dell Technologies Poland, based on the case study, will be premiered.
Unified, Accessible Data
SIPAM will streamline the operations of maritime administration and external entities by providing fast access to unified spatial data and enabling easy search capabilities. The launch of the system is part of Poland’s implementation of the INSPIRE Directive, which establishes spatial information infrastructure within the European Union. According to this directive, access to SIPAM data will be available through various projects implemented in Poland and the European Union, geoportal.gov.pl, geoserwis.gdos.gov.pl, inspire.gios.gov.pl, geo.stat.gov.pl.
From Servers to Workstations
Intratel’s scope of work encompassed two main aspects of the SIPAM implementation. The first aspect involved the hardware infrastructure, including servers, backup servers, storage systems, and virtualization software. The second aspect was the supply of workstations. The client required a turnkey solution, which included not only the delivery of hardware but also its installation, configuration, and testing. Essential servers, disk arrays, virtualization systems, security and integration solutions, as well as software for data archiving and visualization, were installed in four locations: the Maritime Office in Gdynia, the Port Authority in Gdynia, the Maritime Office in Słupsk, and the Maritime Office in Szczecin.
